The Otter class is EVO's flagship entry-level program for young swimmers ready to take the first lesson without a parent in the water. With just three students per coach, every child gets the close attention of near-private instruction at a fraction of the cost.
Otter is the level where independent swimming starts. Coaches build comfort and confidence in small, focused groups. Families across Gilbert, Mesa, SanTan Village, and the East Valley pick EVO for one reason: a ratio small enough to actually feel personal.
Indoor, climate-controlled pools. Lessons run year-round in warm water, no matter what Arizona's outside temperature is doing.
Built around parents, too. A viewing room with free Wi-Fi and a sibling play area means you can watch every lesson without juggling siblings outside.

The Otter class is for young swimmers who are not yet independent in the water. As one of the most popular swimming lessons for 2 to 3-year-olds in the East Valley, Otter is often a child's first class without a parent alongside them. The small group keeps it gentle: tears are common at first, but most kids settle in within two to three lessons.
Breath control. Holding breath and blowing bubbles, the foundation of every stroke. Kicking and floating. Practicing the basic movements that build into real swimming. Face-in-the-water swimming. Getting comfortable moving while submerged.
Sessions run 30 minutes in EVO's warm indoor pool, one class per week.

| Class | Ratio | Monthly Rate |
|---|---|---|
| 1 class per week, 3:1 ratio | $131/month |
Babies can begin the Starfish class as early as 3 months old. At this stage, infant swimming lessons focus on water comfort and breath control rather than strokes, making early enrollment safe and age-appropriate.
Yes. EVO's Starfish class is a parent-tot swim class where a parent or caregiver joins the baby in the water for every session. The class covers water acclimation, basic skills, and parent-child bonding.
Both year-round locations in Gilbert and Mesa feature indoor, climate-controlled pools. Water temperature stays warm and consistent regardless of the season.
Bring a swim diaper, a towel, and a change of clothes for you and your baby. No goggles or special gear are needed for the Starfish level.
The Starfish class has a 12:1 student-to-coach ratio. Because a parent or caregiver is in the water with each baby, your little one has both professional guidance and your support at all times.
Once your child is ready, the next step is the Pufferfish class, another parent-tot level with an 8:1 ratio for ages 16 to 24 months. From there, swimmers move into EVO's entry-level classes like Otter and Seal.
